Three newly renovated schools in Hammanskraal, Tshwane have been unveiled by MEC for Gauteng Department of Finance and e-Government, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko after having benefitted from a renovation project that commenced in 2019.

The school renovation project is a result of a partnership between the Gauteng Provincial Government, Altron Nexus and the Gauteng Department of Education.

MEC Nkomo-Ralehoko said  in 2019 during her visit to the area, she discovered that certain schools were in dire need for assistance, and  immediately approached Altron Nexus to assist.

“I stand before you, grateful that this project was well received by Altron Nexus. When we engaged with them, requesting for their assistance, they did not hesitate but went an extra mile to renovate two more schools in addition to the one school we had proposed,” she said.

Mr Kennedy Chinganya, Managing Director for  Altron Nexus, said this partnership serves as part of Altron’s 2.0 strategy, which seeks to be a responsible environmental, social, and corporate governance company.

“Our schools produce our future leaders and employees, and as a concerned corporate, it is our responsibility to ensure they receive assistance. We are there when it matters the most, living our values of delivering innovation that matters while being passionate about employees and customers, partners and their communities,”.

The schools which benefitted from this project include Rapelego Primary, Ramabele Secondary and Mmatso Primary School. The renovations of the schools entail painting, wall plastering, office furniture and the provision of laptops.

Furthermore, the schools were connected to the Gauteng Broadband Network for WIFI as part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s ‘smart schools’ initiative.
